Over the past few weeks, Gordon has been prepping the area around our fenced-in veggie garden for new flower beds. At first he removed about 5-6 feet of turf, but then decided that if he mowed a strip and covered it with landscape cloth, it would save time.
He covered the landscape cloth with the brush from our winter/spring tree clean up.
Then, with the generous help of neighbor Peter Graves, moved about 50 cubic yards of sandy loam from Peter’s foundation replacement project to the new beds.
Gordon plans to cover that with good quality top soil in readiness for late spring planting.
Meanwhile, we await the first draft of the landscape plan from our landscape designer, Marina Wynton, of Olivland LLC.
